ROCSS Programme 2025-2026

All meetings are held at 7.30pm in the Symposium Hall, RCSEd, Hill Square, Edinburgh.  Refreshments are available from 6.45pm and following the meeting.

Members are encouraged to bring colleagues and members of their dental team as guests to meetings.  If you are not yet a Member, you are very welcome to attend as a guest.  Why not come along to one of the talks and experience the excellent quality of speakers and friendly atmosphere?  Once you are ready, joining the Society is very easy using the online form.

13 November 2025 - First Ordinary Meeting (Presidential Address).

Speaker:  Mark McCutcheon.

11 December 2025 - Second Ordinary Meeting.

Title:  'Contemporary Restorative Dentistry - New Possibilities Together With New Challenges'.

Aims, Objectives and Learning Content

1.  To review the current status of Restorative Dentistry.

2.  To understand changes in the delivery of care.

3.  To appreciate our potential educational needs.

Expected Learning Outcomes

Following attendance, participants will be able to:

1.  Know the benefits and limitations of different restorative procedures.

2.  Know the skills necessary for effective delivery.

2. To provide practical steps that can be taken to reduce the risk of peri-implantitis.
3. To outline protocols used in non-surgical management of peri-implantitis.

Title: 'Restorative Considerations for Endodontically Treated Posterior Teeth'.

Aims and Objectives

 

  1. To provide an update on the contemporary options for restoring an endodontically treated posterior tooth.
  2. To provide a logical treatment planning protocol when assessing the most appropriate method to restore an endodontically treated posterior tooth.
  3. To discuss both direct and indirect solutions for the restoration of an endodontically treated posterior tooth.

Learning Outcomes 

To provide an understanding of the solutions available to restore endodontically treated posterior teeth to create an optimal coronal seal and provide a successful long-term restoration.
